Happy Birthday!

11 years ago today this sweet little baby was born. It was a bright sunny day, and Sigve finally decided he was ready to conquer the world- 15 days after his due date. (I was so happy!) This picture was taken when he was only a couple of hours old. On his birthday today, it is not as sunny and warm, but he always brings a big smile to our faces. He's a very happy and content kid and we are so very proud to be his parents. Tonight we'll have family over for dinner, and he baked his cake last night, only the decorating left, and he wanted to do that himself as well. I'll have to post a picture tomorrow. I have finished the first three blocks of Lynette's Noahs Ark BOM. They have been finished a while, but the days seem to fly by and I haven't gotten around to take pictures until now. (The first block is in a previous post) I am doing the BOM in red and white, and I use this little bag to keep my floss, fabrics and finished blocks in. I am using Aurifil thread for the stitching, I like the look and feel of it, and I LOVE the fact that it comes on a spool, and I don't have to divide the strands of thread. I have also been a good girl and continued on my quest to finish up some flimsies, again- no time for pictures, but after May 17th I promise to show you! May 17th is our Independence day, and with all three kids in the marching band this year we've been quite busy with marching practices lately...
This was the first time they played together, Ola is the one in the yellow sweater, the two drummers started lessons 2 1/2 months ago...
Kini has been twirling since 3rd grade, so she's got her routines down. (That's her in the red jacket)

  1. How precious! Happy Birthday to Sigve. I like your redwork blocks so much that I think I'll copy and do mine in red too. I am going to use 1930's reproduction fabrics with them. Today is also the birthday of a blog friend's daughter. The blog is Life's Little Garden and I just love it and Valerie who writes it.

  7. Those blocks look fantastic in red. Enjoyed the band and marching videos. Since I was 13, I've played trombone in a brass band and done lots of parades.
