December already?

I don't have any quilts to show you today- most of my sewing time has been spent making my SSCS partner her gift.  I hope the sleigh will land at her house in good time before Christmas!  I can show you some baking I did though.  This cake was so good! it is called a Bounty kladdekake and you can find the recipe (in Norwegian) here at "Det søte liv" blog.  If you like coconut this is an amazing cake! 

I was in Røros teaching a bag class in November, and got to try this new Subaru Outback for the weekend.  I think I am in love with this car, it was really nice to drive, and it had plenty of room for all my stuff, and I even brought a bit of the shop with me there...

Here are some of the ladies from the class with their bags.  I went back a couple of weeks later to help them finish their bags.  They are a really fun group!

Bag class

Yesterday was our first class at the new location. Five ladies started a new bag class, and I was very happy everything worked fine.  They all had plenty of room, and the lighting was good.  The bag they are making is the "Professional tote" or the "Mini professional tote", which I blogged about a little earlier.  I think there will be some great bags emerging from this class!

A fun class!

This week we had such a great class at the shop!  Helen Stubbings came to Norway on a tour to teach at several shops/ guilds, and we were thrilled to have her here in Tynset.

Helen is a wonderful teacher, and we all learned new ways of doing things.  We used Helen's Hexies, and they are just super easy to work with! I sure have a new favorite way of sewing my hexagons now!

I didn't have time to actually sew anything in class, but I started on Helen's pattern "Pretty Pouch" the other day, using scraps from my brother and sister in law's wedding quilt :-) I have two rows finished now.... still a few to go :-)
