Shop and swap update

No pictures today. Kristine is at Bjørnsund leirskole this week with the rest of 7th grade, and she brought the camera to capture memories of their week there. I spoke with her yesterday, and they are just having a wonderful time out fishing and learning about life on the coast. Since we live FAR away from any ocean or even large lake, this is a whole new world for these kids, and I am sure they will learn a lot from their week there. There are pictures to see on the link, so go ahead and have a look!

Yesterday I received a LARGE envelope in the mail from my swap partner in the First Aid kit swap, Mary. She made me this really cute first aid kit that had all the stuff you don't want to be without, and I just love it! It has a separate pocket for everything, and it ties up with a pretty ribbon. The really great part is that it will actually fit in any of my purses (sorry Mary, I didn't think of that hen I made yours...) And she even added a copy of a wonderful quilting magazine, quilts and more. And boy did it have some great projects! I will definitely be sewing some aprons in the near future, the patterns are just adorable. So Mary- thankyouthankyouthankyou youarethebest :)

OK. on to the shop update... I have decided on a name (I think... LOL) it will be LAPPEMOR. For all of you "non Norwegian speaking" out there, I can't seem to find a good translation, but I will try to explain; Lappemor has been a nickname, and means a person (female) who enjoys patcwork/quilting. Lapp means patch, and Mor means Mom.
I received the keys to the shop yesterday, and next Wednesday we will be going to IKEA in Trondheim to shop for shelves and other fun stuff.
I will also be ordering fabrics, patterns and notions over the next weeks, this will be a lot of fun. If you are a pattern designer, or know one I should consider, please let me know. I would love to find at least a few designers that you can't find in every single quilt shop in Norway.
I will keep you updated, I am just having a lot of fun these days :) (And I DO find time to sew, pictures will be posted tomorrow when Kini comes home with the camera)

  13. That is the name I was going to submit as a suggestion but I didn't...because I didn't know what it meant, but I knew it must have a lovely meaning since you use it for blogging. It sounds like a great idea.
