new fabric and another purse finished

I have finished another purse, a kitty bag... Kristine (DD) loves cats, so I guess this one will be hers. Last Monday she came to my quilted handbags class after her dance practice, and started sewing a phone holder for her cell phone. She did it all herself, and I think she did really good. See how well it matches the purse?

I have also received my first order from the fat quarter shop And I have to figure out what to do with all these charm squares and the jelly roll. Oh I just love getting new fabric...

And if you are wondering about my Elm Creek reading... I have finished book no. 2; Round Robin, and tonight I will begin reading the cross country quilters. Oh I just LOVE these books.

  4. Great purse! And I recognise the mobile phone holder - that pattern is a lot of fun to do, and I'm guessing your daughter had a blast doing it; it looks great! Charm squares and a jelly roll ... ohh lucky you! Have lots of fun with them! Nice to see you're hooked on the Elm Creek novels! And who knows, maybe I can trick you into doing an SBS someday - (you just have to read The Master Quilter first... :o)

  9. I too have stacks of the charm squares in my stash and they're fun to have around even if I never find time to sew them. Just seeing them in the quilt shops makes me want to buy more! I haven't bought the jelly rolls yet as when I went to my quilt shop they were sold out during her February sale. They look neat rolled up that way! :D
