Yesterday we decided to take a break from Christmas preparations, and go downhill skiing instead. So we dug out all our gear, loaded the car and headed to Funäsdalen in Sweden. It's not too far to drive, about an hour an 45 minutes, and their slopes are GREAT!!
Now it was a bit windy at the top- but hey, we weren't staying up there all day- here's Kristine getting ready for her first run of the season. Kristine, Ola and I did slalom, Sigve snowboarded and Svein (DH) did Telemark skiing.
The view from the top of the slope.
After a few hours we were all skied out and headed back home after doing a little shopping, since Swedish grocerystores are open on Sundays. (Did you know in Norway everything is closed on Sundays??)
Oh what a wonderful, wonderful day!
ReplyDeletelooks like a wonderful day.........and I hope you didn't run into any of Santa's helpers...........
ReplyDeleteSounds so nice! When I was a girl all or at least most stores were closed on Sundays but that changed over time. Now almost everything is open on Sundays.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day you had...a big contrast to the 40 deg heat we had!!!
ReplyDeleteA reindeer crossing sign. How cute! I have never attempted to ski. Sure looks like it was a fun day.
