Big news

I have some wonderful news to share with you today. Now all my "local" readers might already know this, since it has already been in the newspapers locally.
I will give you a few pictureclues first...First, part of our National costume for this region. Pretty, isn't it?
Then, some lovely wool yarn
Then we have a couple of "Neverkonter" (I have no idea what these are called in English- sorry!) Look at these wonderfully knitted socks for the men's national outfit, or "Bunad".And here is the whole set of "Østerdalsbunader". Not as richly embroidered as some of the other regions have- but I think they are vert pretty. (Not that I'm biased or anything...)
A picture from a lovely shop- My favorite in Tynset I might add...
Another picture from the same shop
Oh, could it be the same shop again?
So now you are probably wondering what's with all these pictures of nothing quilt related at all....(if you are still with me that is...) Well, the BIG announcement is that a good friend (who owns a wonderful yarnshop called "Garnkroken") and myself have just bought this lovely shop. The shop is called "Husfliden", and I am sure all my Norwegian readers guessed that already! Husfliden is the place to shop for wonderful traditional handmade gifts, yarn, wool blankets, table linens and other lovely things. I am sure I'll be showing you more pictures as the dust settles around us. This shop has been here in Tynset for almost 40 years, owned by a local family. Now they wanted to sell it, since the current owners don't live here anymore. Karin and I were thrilled to be able to buy the shop. She even worked there for a few years before she opened her own yarn shop.
I'll leave you with the logo from the shop, and now you'll know why I'm a little "absent" from the blogging world these days- there are a few shops to run.... And I'm loving every minute of it!
Take care, have a wonderful weekend, and thank you for stopping by!
