Back home again.

We're back home after a wonderful vacation in sunny Florida. We came home Sunday night, and I already miss the heat and the sunshine. We actually had to get a fire going in the fireplace on Sunday night! Talk about a BIG difference in temperatures!!! Anyhow- it's back to work for hubby and me, and the kids go back to school on Monday, so they still have a few days to relax and play with their friends.I promised I'd show you the quilty stuff I bought while on vacation, so here we go: first I want to show you the wonderful gift Marie gave me when we met: A very cute kit for a butterfly quilt, some wonderful fabrics, and a great magazine! Marie is such a sweet friend, and I was very happy to meet her. She took me to the most amazing quilt shop in Rockledge called "The Quilt Place" It was just wonderful- they even had three long arm machines set up in the shop. The second time I went there they had them all running- too cool!
And I had to get a few patterns. The boys picked out the dragon patterns- they both want to have "Japanese" rooms with dragons and swords now....
And here's the fabrics- again, the bottom row is fabrics the boys picked out for their rooms (Oh, except the Halloween panel- that's mine.)
Last but not least I got two kits for pillowcases for Kristine (bought those at Queen Anne's Lace). Her room is all "Surfer girl" stuff, so I thought palmtrees and seashells would be appropriate. Now I started one this morning, but the instructions were not very good (or else I am just stupid) so I think I need to rip it apart and start over again without reading the instructions. How hard could it be??
I truly appreciate all your sweet comments- now that I'm back home I'm able to respond to you as well.
Have you visited Cheryl recently? She's celebrating her 1 year blogiversary with a great give away! Pop on over- she has a wonderful blog!
Thank you for visiting, and have a great week!

  2. Well it sounds like your vacation was wonderful. And how was the Disney experience this time? I thought of you! If I lived in that area I would have wanted to meet you IRL too. Glad you made it home safely and soundly. Schools start here today for my grandkids. One of mine starts kindergarten and it's a big thing to him, of course. Happy Tuesday to you!

  6. Hey, so glad your home safe and sound. It was so good to have some time with you but just not enough! I love the purchases from the Quilt Place.I will have to tell you those are the worst directions on the pillow cases, i ended up going back down to shop and asking how they did them cause I thought i was really dumb, but they shoed me and zip they were done, loved it. When you get a chance send me e-mail so I can get my mail to work again to you, tried yesterday twice and it came back. Take care, Blessings and Hugs, Marie
