Coming up for air.

I am really bad about writing blogposts these days, and I apologize for that. I have been, and still am really busy working with a dance performance that Kini and Sigve both are dancing in. They auditioned way back in September, and have been rehearsing since November- now the opening night is closing in, their premiere is on March 12th. I have been sewing costumes along with two other ladies, and let me tell you- 24 dresses (and pants and a vest for Sigve) takes a while to sew. Especially when there are no instructions, and the dresses need to fit every girl perfectly. There has been some ripping- let me tell you!! The picture below shows a sneak peak of one of the dresses. When you are used to sewing with 1/4" seam, it is hard to adjust to a 2" seam allowance for these dresses....
Saturday was the first rehersal with make up and costumes- I was helping with hair and makeup as well, and here is Kristine- ready to put her costume on. I got to watch- for the very first time, and I was just stunned at how wonderful all the kids were dancing. This is a brand new "show" with new music composed especially for it- it is called "tørst" which means "thirsty" and it is the story of the "jutulhogget canyon" and the making of it- the fight between the "Rendalstroll" and the "Glomdalstroll" to get the river to their valley. Sigve is the only boy, except two male professional dancers, and he's having a great time. He has a solo with one of the professionals, and he's just loving it. (He didn't like the makeup part to much though...)
Well, now you know a little about what's going on here these days- in two weeks time everything should get back to "normal" but for now, please excuse my absence:)
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate all your lovely comments!
