A wonderful Christmas

Did you have a nice Christmas? I sure did... we've been at the cabin with my parents, brother and my 91 yr old grandmother. It's the first time we spend Christmas eve at the cabin, but I'm sure it won't be the last. We have no electricity or running water there, well, running water up there means we have to run to the creek and carry water in buckets back to the cabin- it's only about 150 meters, so it's not bad at all- gives us (read my dad and hubby) some good exercise LOL. The stove and refrigerator runs on gas, and we have a gas heater for the water along with a solar panel that gives us some electricity for lights and for watching some TV. As a result we tend to let our shoulders down and spend some quality time as a family, not having to do loads of housework or even checking the computer for mail... I brought along a sweater I started knitting a few months ago, and got the last sleeve done and hopefully the sweater will be finished by the end of January... there are some mittens I would love to knit before springtime:)

I received so many wonderful Christmas presents this year- Sarah gave me a wonderful handbag and apron in the SSC Swap- thank you so much- I will have to post pictures later- my camera is out of power, and Kristine brought the battery charger to Texas. I know I have another charger somewhere....but I can not find it- how frustrating!

Sigve started flute lessons in September, and is getting really good, he played several Christmas carols for us before we opened our presents.

This is our Christmas tree at home this year. The boys decorated it all by themselves, and I think they did a wonderful job.

Happy New Year to all, and thank you for stopping by!
