The joy of a quiltclass...

Wow, what a day! I had the most wonderful time yesterday. The day started with DH and the kids waking me up with breakfast in bed, presents and singing "happy birthday" to me- the most wonderful start of a day I will never forget. The drive to Trysil was not as long as I had remembered, I have to drive through the mountains, and there was no snow yet, which was nice. I arrived early and got to have lunch with Leanne, her husband and a few other quilters before class started. Leanne was just the most amazing person, and we had a great time. I brought my 365 quilt with me, and she had hers there as well, and it was so much fun to see how different they are. We were nine ladies in class, and I think all our bags will be different. I got over my hand applique fear, and managed to get one heart appliqued- I was thrilled (all I need now is practice-practice-practice LOL)

It was great to see Leannes quilts in real life- pictures don't do them justice! Her new butterfy garden quilt is just stunning! I wish I could have stayed for one more day- but hey- some of us have to work LOL. The stitchery they are doing in class today is really cute- and the pattern will be out soon- so there is hope for the rest of us!
