Christmas is coming....

And this year I need to be ahead to make samples for the shop. I think I just need to skip right to Christmas and stay ahead of the seasons/holidays. In Norway Halloween isn't very big yet, most people will not decorate their house or anything like that, so I will not be making a Halloween window this year (but maybe next year, I love all the fun Halloween patterns!)
The first Christmas project for the shop is a treeskirt from AnnAKa. I started this a couple of weeks ago, but with the classes running two nights a week I've been busy with class samples and directions. After tonight and next Tuesday I have a few weeks without any classes, which will be nice. I do love the classes, but I love spending time with my family as well, so I schedule a few weeks off after working 12 hour days twice a week for a while. I've finished my Jelly Roll quilt, and for now it's in the shop window, but this one will be coming home with me real soon!! I think it will be a great quilt to snuggle under on the couch at night, don't you? I'm thinking of making more just like it in different colors, like black/white/grey with one bright color like red. I will get to that one day....

Tonight and next Tuesday is Egyptian Wheel of Wonder class, I'm having fun with this, quick and easy :) Here's the one in progress today...

Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. Wow I love the Egyptian Wheel of Wonder quilt, it's striking! I've seen one made by an acquaintance and saw the template at Paducah but so far haven't gotten into that. The jelly roll quilt looks straightforward enough, is that made from a pattern or your own design? I have two JRs, one each of two different fabrics, and have no plans yet for what to do with them. Your quilt looks like good inspiration. With Christmas not that far away I don't blame you for planning for that holiday now and not taking time for Halloween. Here it's quite the custom to go over the top and decorate heavily for it, I don't, but many people do. I like basic fall decor though with pumpkins and bittersweet and gourds.
