Still here...

It's been too long since my last post- I'm sorry! I've been sewing every day, and here are two small projects done- a round table topper, and a small runner. The round one was so much fun to make, i used Marilyn Doheny's 9* ruler, and it sewed up really quickly (I love that part...) I've also finished my Ohio Star table runner, and a Couch quilt to snuggle up in with my stitchery at night. I haven't gotten around to photograph it yet, but I will sometime this week. DD is in Sweden on a soccer tournament this week, and before she left we started a big "room switch" project- DD will move into my sewing room on the 1st floor (the largest room, of course) Her youngest brother will move into her room, which is a large room as well, and I will be moving my sewing room upstairs to his old bedroom (the smallest one in the house...) Needless to say, we've been carrying stuff around up and down the stairs every night now,(who needs to go to a gym?)and the really great part about this whole move is that I get to go through their stuff and get rid of a lot of junk! And the same goes for my sewing room, I have collected loads of stuff I will never use, and moving into a smaller room forces me to be selective about what goes in it. For now all the stuff from the sewing room is in the downstairs living room which we don't use a lot. That will give me some time to decide what is worth keeping. In the meantime I am thrilled to have my shop where I get to sew up a storm :)

  1. Ein slik linjal kunne eg tenkt meg! Fantastisk å lese engelsken din, tydeleg at du har vore "over there". Flytting og sjauing av saker og ting kjenner eg godt til! Det er både godt og vemodig, ein må gjere opp status, og det vekkjer til live mange minner. Sjølv har eg no mange ting frå foreldra mine som skal finne sine nye plassar i min heim.

  3. Those are sweet toppers and the round one is especially interesting. It's good to have a clear out and discard stuff you will never use again. Whenever I do that, it is interesting to review what is being discarded and a good time to ask myself "Why did I buy that?". You will have to show pics of your new sewing room.
