Last week was a crazy busy one- but also a very good one- look at the parcels that arrived in our mailbox! The first one is from my good friend Marie in Florida- she sent me wonderful birthday gifts, she's so sweet! And I have been such a good girl not to open them yet., 12 days to go now, and I think I can make it! Marie has not been well lately, and I hope she'll get better soon- why don't you pop on over and say hello- she posted some pictures of her son in his Ironman competition last week- he did great! He was actually voted "Most athletic" in our senior year at Merritt Island High School, and would you look at him- he still looks amazing 20 years later!!!!
The second parcel came all the way from Lise in Australia! She was so sweet to send me these two Homespun magazines! She even included some chocolate biscuits- yummy! Thank you so much Lise- you are such a sweetheart! As you might be able to see I started stitching the first Santa Claus from Bronwyn Hayes' Christmas quilt. Lise had sent me my first Homespun magazine a little while back, and it had installment no.2 of 3 of this really pretty quilt. Lise was such an angel to send me these other two issues so I can make this quilt. Now it won't be finished in time for Christmas this year, but there is a Christmas EVERY year, so hopefully it will be finished before Cristmas 2009.
I have been doing a bit of secret sewing as well, for my stitchers angel swap partner, and I think the gifts will be shipped out this week, sorry- I can't reveal anything yet, it's a SECRET, remember?
Contrary to most Norwegians I am getting the house ready for Halloween- I love decorating for fall- and hey, I get to use orange....so I whipped up this table topper from a charm pack, sewed the binding on last night. I like the fabrics a lot, and the charm pack has been on my shelf for months, so it was time!
Thank you for stopping by!
Cute Halloween tablerunner.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could wait 12 more days to open a present.
ReplyDeleteLenge siden jeg har vært innom, men nå er jeg oppdatert. Mye flott håndarbeid, og fin blogging.
ReplyDeleteHi. Love your Halloween tablerunner. I'm hoping to make the Wish quilt too...I got the whole pattern. But one question,,, have you any idea where we can get the white and red fabrics with letter on? Have a great week end. Love to visit you again in your new store.
ReplyDeleteAny time you can find a reason to celebrate, I think you should take advantage of it. What a wonderful table runner. Very festive.
ReplyDeleteYou must have been a very good girl to get all the goodies in the mail!
ReplyDeleteIf you are making The Wish Quilt or planning to, be aware that there are several errors in the instructions. There will be a flyer inserted in the November issue (9.11) listing the corrections and the same information will be printed in the magazine itself in December (9.12). However, you don't have to wait until then. Just go to the Homespun website at www.completecraft.com.au and click on the 'Corrections' tab. You will find the corrections and some additional information that might be helpful at quilt assembly stage.
