Fun mail

Well hello there, and a very happy Monday to you! Did you have a good weekend? I sure did. Last week this lovely magazine came to me all the way from Lise in Australia, along with a cute card and an adorable handpainted button. Thank you so much Lise, the magazine is wonderful, and I think I know exactly where to use the button...Now I have to admit this magazine is one of the best I've seen- It has so many different projects, both stitching and quilting, along with the articles and the wonderful photos I'm just thrilled! I might have to put in a subscription for Homespun...
Julie over on JulieKQuilts has been working on her "Be attitudes" quilt from the book by Nancy Halvorsen, and I just loved her blocks. I've had the book since it came out, and she just gave me the last push to get started- thank you Julie! I made the first block on Saturday, it still has some embroidery that need to be done, but I think I will make another couple of blocks before I start to do the handwork. I still have to finish my two brown chickens- almost there now... And then with summer being almost over I pulled out my knitting again- look, I put away one and a half sock this spring- About time to finish it I think... I actually knitted most of this second sock last night before I took the picture, so it is almost done now.
Yesterday was spent at a soccer tournament with Ola. They had three games Saturday and three games yesterday, and with two hours between games it was a loong day, but we had fun- I love watching the kids play! Tonight I get to drive to Kristine's game which is 85km from here- it's going to be a late night!
I'll leave you with a couple of pictures from yesterday.
Have a great week, and thank you for stopping by!

  1. The quilt block is cute, cute, cute. That magazine is one of my favorites and when I happen to see on one a magazine newstand for (rarely) I buy it. I was going to order some issues from an Australian quilt shop until I saw how much the shipping cost was going to be, it was WAY too much. The issue you have in the photo is one that I've been wanting because it has Leanne's cute bag on the cover. So much for that.
I'm thinking autumn too now that we are into our last week of August. This summer was the fastest one I can ever remember...poof, and it's nearly over.

  2. I have just ordered that magazine from Australia. You know I have the softest spot for Bronwyn H and in this magazine is part 2 of 3 of a lovely Christmas quilt :-)

Your Attitude quilt will be lovely. I am looking forward to see how it progress.

  6. I love Australian Homespun, but a subscription is really expensive because of the shippingcosts.

I’m thinking Autumn too, because we didn’t have much of a Summer. I heard though that temperatures will be 25 to 30 degrees next weekend....
