100th post on St. Lucia day.
Today we celebrate St. Lucia day in Norway. The kids dress in white and hold candles while they sing the "Lucia song" and give out "Lucia rolls". It is a sweet tradition, and at school it is the 5th graders who gets to go in the procession at school and the retirement homes. Sigve has been practicing his songs for a couple of weeks now, and he was pretty excited this morning. Today is also my Mom's birthday- HAPPY BIRTHDAY mom!!! and Kristine and I made lots of Lucia buns last night to bring her for her party tonight. Kristine also brought some for her class today. She leaves for Texas on Saturday, and will be spending Christmas with her daddy and mutti. I will miss her so much, but then I know they miss her all year long and Christmas will be very special for all of them. The picture is a few years old... I think I took it 5 years ago... feels like not that long ago though...
And for a finish-
The nativity quilt is now finished and I am pleased with how it turned out. For now it is hanging in the shop. Sorry the picture is not good at all.
As you can see in the title- this is my 100th post. I can not believe I have reached that number in under a year. Leave me a comment on this post and I will draw a lucky winner on Sunday! I will send out a surprise package to the lucky one in the beginning of next week :)
Thank you so much for visiting- have a wonderful day!

Anne, Is the Nativity pattern one you designed, or is it from a book/pattern? I really like the look of it, and was interested in getting the pattern if it was available. Thanks... I do not have a blog, so will look for a response here in your comments.

Hva du rekker, jeg er kjempeimponert. Nydelig bilde av ungene, skjønner godt at du vil savne datteren din i jula, men du får henne tilbake igjen. Julequilten din er kjempeflott.

ReplyDeleteDeilige Lucia barn!!

God jul.
