I hope you all had a lovely New Years Eve, and had a great start on 2011.
Right before Christmas we got some new things and pattern in at the shop. Among the new things was Transfer-Eze. You might all be familiar with this, but to me it was new, and I HAD to try it out. Transfer-Eze is actually a sheet of thin water soluble fabric with a backing paper you can run through your printer or copy machine. It makes it so easy to copy your stitchery design and get ready to sticth in no time. You just peel off the backing paper and stick it onto your stitcery fabric and start to stitch- How cool is that??
Both Karin and I fell in love with this pattern from Bird Brain Designs, and started to stitch it right away- we're both using thread from Weeks Dye Works, and I really like it so far.
Here's a close up. This stuff is so easy to stitch through, I don't even think about it being there.
I've seen a lot of bloggers are working on UFO's now. I finished most of mine this past summer- but I have stacks of patterns I really want to get started on.... Might be making more UFO's this year..... But I hope to "be good" and finish the ones I start!
Now this box might have to be my focus for January (along with that Bunad shirt embroidery). This is a BOM from 2009 I think- only block 1 is finished..... There is also a kit in there for place-mats and kitchen curtains for two of my windows above my kitchen workbench.... I really should get these done as well.... Maybe I should make a list???
There will always be a UFO or two at my place...nice to get some motivation back for some older projects though.
ReplyDeleteI have a few UFO's..some which are over 10 year old... :o) It's good to have a variety of things to work on...it ensures one never gets bored!
ReplyDeletehihihi don't make a list, just work on the things you enjoy the most at the moment hihihi! Am working on 5 at the same time here hihi!! Happy sewing, Daniëlle
ReplyDeleteWhen I first join stashbusters, I participated in their UFO challenge. UFO started to pop up from everywhere. So I made a list of all my projects up to 2007 (the year I did the challenge). I've since continued making a yearly list, just so I know when I started the project. So far, I've been pretty good at finishing things, more so since I mow own a Shoppe and need samples! ;o) Your stitchery is so cute. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
